How can universities give back to the communities they belong to?

Dr. Katharine Pace Miles joined Read by 4th partners to talk about CUNY Reading Corps, a high-impact tutoring model CUNY has implemented in New York City. As part of their course fieldwork, pre-service teachers are paired with schools in need to deliver high-impact, evidence-based tutoring. This work has an incredible dual impact: giving students the reading support they need and providing the next generation of teachers with meaningful hands-on experience.

Whether you're a professor, principal, funder, or literacy advocate, this is a worthwhile initiative to explore.
